Ugandan Kids by kspatula

"In the spring of 2003, three young filmmakers traveled to Africa in search of a story. What started out as a filmmaking adventure transformed into much more when these boys from Southern California discovered a tragedy that disgusted and inspired them, a tragedy where children are both the weapons and the victims.

After returning to the States, they created the documentary "Invisible Children: Rough Cut," a film that exposes the tragic realities of northern Uganda's night commuters and child soldiers.

The film was originally shown to friends and family, but has now been seen by millions of people. The overwhelming response has been, "How can I help?" To answer this question, the non-profit Invisible Children, Inc. was created, giving compassionate individuals an effective way to respond to the situation."

Act XXXVI: IC Filmmakers on Larry King Live.

Sun Jun 7, 2009, 7:35 PM
On June 2nd, our boys Lauren, Bobby, and Jason appeared on Larry King along with Fall Out Boy bassist and Invisible Children supporter Pete Wentz to talk about the war in Uganda, how IC and the youth of today have helped the cause, and what they expect the US government to do about this crisis.

You can see the entire interview, uncut, I believe, here.

Later,on his blog, Pete Wentz wrote about his thoughts on the interview.

"this is me speaking. not fob. not invisible children. i believe that the civil war in uganda has not gotten the attention from u.s. foreign policy or gov because it is not beneficial to the united states. the stability in the region is not a high issue for our government. however, there are many people that do profit from the instability in uganda and more specifically their mineral rich neighbor of the congo. we spend our time in the desert with oil- defending democracy. however, we do live in a representative democracy. we each have a voice and our government ultimately serves us. this war can end. we can end it and we should. not for the glory. not for the flag. but for the humanity that everyone on this planet deserves. check out invisiblechildren.com for more information on how you can be involved."

Very good stuff guys.

So, what are your thoughts?
Are there any questions that you think should have been asked, but weren't?
What do you think about the war? Do you think that it would realistic to expect for it to end this year?
Next Year? Ever?
